Endgame Detailing — Car Detailing Frequently Asked Questions

At Endgame Detailing, we get a lot of questions about car detailing, ceramic coating, PPF and paint correction in Sydney. We’ve put together this FAQ page to answer the most common ones so you know exactly what to expect before you book.

What is car detailing?

Car detailing means giving your vehicle a complete clean and protection treatment inside out so it feels like new.

Do you offer mobile auto detailing?

No. End Game doesn't offer mobile detailing. Every job is done in our studio for a controlled, dust-free finish.

Is detailing a car worth it?

Detailing preserves paint and interior materials; it helps prevent damage from dirt moisture and UV rays; plus it can increase resale value.

How often should I have my car detailed?

Plan two full details each year. In between, hand wash the car every two weeks with a pH-neutral shampoo, or book a maintenance wash with us. If your car has PPF or a ceramic or graphene coating, skip waxes and car washes altogether.

How long does it take to detail a vehicle on average?

A full detail usually requires two to five hours depending on vehicle size and selected services.

What do I need to do to prepare my car before you arrive?

Please remove all personal belongings and loose items from the interior and trunk.

Ensure there’s clear access around the vehicle and, if possible, park in a shaded area to avoid working in direct sunlight.

Do you offer engine-bay or under-hood detailing services?

Yes. We use specialized degreasers and gentle steam-cleaning techniques to safely remove grime and dirt from your engine bay without harming electrical components.

How should I maintain and protect my finish after a detail?

Wash your car every two weeks. Start with a snow-foam pre-wash (rinse, apply a pH-neutral snow foam, let it dwell for a few minutes without drying, then rinse top down), then hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and dry it straight away with a clean microfibre towel. You can pick up both at any car-care store, such as Supercheap Auto, Repco or Autobarn.

Don't let water sit on the car: dry it soon after rain or sprinklers and never wash in direct sun, or minerals can leave water spots. If your car is coated or wrapped in PPF, never use wax, sealants or any car wash. Coatings need 1 week before their first wash and film needs 2–4 weeks; on film, a pressure washer is fine after that on a wide fan at least 1 m back, never at the edges. If you notice any lifting or bubbling on new film, leave it and let us know on 0400 053 885.

Do you use eco-friendly or low-VOC products?

Absolutely. We offer detailing packages that feature biodegradable shampoos and low-VOC sealants, so you get a brilliant finish with minimal environmental impact.

Are your technicians fully insured and certified?

All our detailers are fully trained, hold industry certifications, and carry comprehensive liability insurance for your peace of mind.

How much does professional car detailing cost?

Every car is quoted individually, because the price depends on its size and condition and the work it needs. Book a free studio inspection or call 0400 053 885 for an accurate quote.

Is a drying aid necessary when detailing a car?

A drying aid makes towel drying smoother by reducing friction; it also leaves a water repellent finish for added protection.

What are the do’s and don’ts of car detailing for beginners?

• Use a neutral pH car shampoo in shaded conditions and rinse towels often
• Avoid household cleaners such as dish soap and never work under direct sunlight
• Make sure each microfiber towel is clean before every wipe

What questions should I ask a detailer before booking?

Ask about their background and training. Check which brands of products they use.

Confirm exactly which treatments each package covers and how long each appointment will take. Inquire about any performance promise.
